How It WorksSmith Transcription has tailored its service so that our Dictator’s benefit from new developments in digital dictation. Dictator’s are able to dictate in two ways; either over the telephone using our Toll Free number or Hand-held Digital Voice Recorders (Olympus 4000 or 5000). Step 1 - DictationTelephone Call in Simply dial our 1-800 number and leave your dictation over the telephone. We give you the flexibility and control to leave your dictation at the touch of a button and Toll Free. Hand-held Digital Recorders Using a wide variety of digital recorders, we recommend Olympus, simply dictate in the normal way. As a small hand-held device this can be used anywhere and at any time. It couldn't be simpler or more user friendly. Simply plug your hand-held recorder into your PC using the USB cable provided and upload the audio files, it's that easy!. This can be done from any PC with an internet connection; you are not tied to any one piece of equipment. Step 2 - Dictation ReceivedOur system automatically logs your dictation and allocates the corresponding individual Dictator template. We create individual document templates for each of our Dictator’s, which ensures we provide. the exact formatting requirements. Dictator’s can amend or update their layout requirements at anytime. We offer direct letterhead templates. This is where we create your letterhead on a template that the transcriptionists will type directly on cutting overhead letterhead costs. Step 3 - Medical TranscriptionAll our transcriptionists are split into specialist teams. Step 4 - Quality ControlEvery transcript completed by our transcriptionists goes to our Quality Control Department. Here they are checked again word by word against the original dictation by a senior transcriptionist known as an Editor. Step 5 - Output and CompleteAll files are visually checked for correctness, signed off and delivered to the Dictator’s secure output directory where the files are retrieved.
